THE GOVERNMENT IS ALL set to 16 quality standards for steel industry and a notification to this effect will be issued shortly, said Mr. R.S. Pandey while delivering his inaugural address at a workshop on Steel in Construction, and recently organized by Institute for Steel Development and Growth and Rashtiya Ispat Nigam Ltd, in Hyderabad. The government is very serious in implementing the standards and as a part of it asked the steel industry to adhere to these standards. The industry will be given six months time to comply with all these standards. The main objective of introducing these standards is to ensure that consumers across the country should have access to only standardized quality steel.Steel is a major driver of growth of the country’s economy. In order to keep pace with the rapid advancement of modern era professionals and technologists all over the country have been designing
cost effective steel structures. The recently held workshop on Steel in Construction focused to develop better understanding among the steel suppliers and users regarding latest development involving innovative application of construction techniques, use of advanced development in materials.
